It only took a little bit more than a week, but FishMom discovered Bonchew. It happened when she was cleaning up the mail pile again. She asked me about it the next day saying that she had thought one of our orange goldfish may have a disease – it’s turned white and had gotten black and orange spots. Then she realized that there were three fish in the tank.

FishBoy and I were tracking the number of days with an iPad app that tracks tally marks. I had thought it would have taken her at least a month and possibly a year before she noticed. It only took her about 8 days. I had big plans. I was going to design a somewhat abstract picture in Photoshop of Bonchew’s face at close-up behind a stack of papers. I was hoping to have T-shirts made with that picture so we could wear them around the house.

The next day I had to go to a T-Ball coaches meeting at the park. I drove FishMom’s car. When I went home, FishMom told me that she was out watching a movie with FishBoy at the mall. I told them I’d meet them there. I wound up walking to the mall at around the time the movie was ending. We went down to the car in the garage and FishMom said that the car should be around here somewhere. I looked over to my right and see a car that looks very similar to ours except that it’s clean. I said, “Is that it? It looks like it’s too clean though.” FishMom and FishBoy had a pact to see how long it would take me to figure out that they had gotten my car washed earlier in the day.
